Tenerife Property Buying Guide

Is It Safe?

It is not just the dangers of the sun you face here on the Island. There is no regulation for Estates Agents on the island, which means any Tom, Dick or Harry can sell you a property.

It is easy to get caught up in the romance of buying your dream holiday home in the sun; a couple of glasses of sangria, a walk along the beach and your decision making can become hazy. You may find yourself quite happy to put down your hard earned Euros without considering the consequences.

We believe that the decision to purchase your dream home in the sun is one that should not be taken lightly, we are happy to show you a selection of properties here on the island or if you prefer we can just give you the guided tour, helping you to familiarise yourself with the resorts, areas and locations, ensuring that you are making the right decision in terms of the all important “location, location, location”. Once we have indentified a property, we will of course assist with negotiating on the price and lodging any offer with the vendor. It is then normal practise to leave a deposit, which is normally around 3,000€. This can be done whilst you are here or if you prefer it can be done on your return to the UK, giving you time to be sure that you are 100% committed and happy with your choice.

To give you the extra piece of mind we also have in place “Professional Indemnity Insurance”, in Tenerife agents are not required to hold this but for your complete ease of mind our UK company holds this and as everything is processed through them, it means your deposits are safe and protected.
